- ➤ Julie Mattson, a forensic nurse and death investigator for Denton County, hosts the true crime podcast Pushing Up Lilies from her Denton home—she recently celebrated over 50,000 subscribers and launched a new YouTube channel to share her work. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Argyle school board voted unanimously Monday to award a one-time $1,000 bonus for teachers and a $500 bonus for paraprofessionals and auxiliary staff with signed 2025-26 contracts — the bonuses will appear on May paychecks and must be repaid if a staff member resigns before Aug 12. - ➤ A federal investigation found that Providence Village HOA in Denton County tried to ban residents who used government housing help as racist posts spread on social media (Providence Village has about 9,000 residents) and the HUD case was dropped with no clear reason (leaving many residents without help). - ➤ The City Council of Denton will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers (215 E McKinney St) to consider a Specific Use Permit that would allow equipment sales and rental on about 4.25 acres near North Interstate-35, Jim Christal Road, and West Oak Street.
