Denton County Friends of the Family will soon begin building a 6.5 acre resource center to help those affected by domestic violence—this project is their biggest effort yet to remove obstacles for survivors.

Denton ISD students now receive bilingual homework help through the Juntxs Bilingual Homework Hotline, a program started during the COVID pandemic by UNT and TWU volunteers led by Mariela Nuñez-Janes.

The hotline connects kindergarten through high school students with tutors online Monday through Thursday — educators say the effort boosts confidence and supports learning.
