A deadly crash involving an RV and multiple vehicles shut down northbound I-35W at FM 2449 (Vintage Blvd) in Denton County, where seven people were taken to the hospital and one person was declared dead on arrival as the fire department urged drivers to use alternate routes like I-35E or Highway 377.
Crews worked on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash around 4 p.m. Tuesday on northbound I-35W after the FM 2449 Ponder exit where four vehicles and an RV collided and two additional vehicles were damaged, causing one fatality and six injuries—northbound traffic remains rerouted at the Crawford Road exit as the scene is still being cleared.
An RV crash closed the northbound lanes of I-35W near Vintage Boulevard in Denton — authorities advised drivers to find alternate routes as the closure duration remains unknown while investigations continue.
The City of Denton warned residents on April 1st about fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to be city employees who asked for immediate utility payments.
City officials instructed residents not to share personal details and advised checking accounts using the official website (or calling customer service).
The Denton Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, City Council Chambers (215 E McKinney St) to discuss changes to the Development Code for commercial animal services.
Residents may attend to speak or observe as City Council reviews proposals in line with the Denton 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
