Scott Girling, co-owner and head chef at Osteria il Muro (a reservation-only Italian restaurant in Denton), is nominated for Best Chef: Texas in the James Beard Awards with a Chicago ceremony scheduled for June 15 while a Dallas chef is also recognized for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker.
🎓 Education
US Aviation Academy in Denton added a weekend airframe + powerplant program to serve students working Monday through Thursday and prepare them for aviation maintenance careers.

New SNAP rules in Texas restricted benefits from being used for candy, gum, and sweetened drinks as of Wednesday; the Texas Health and Human Services Commission policy directs retailers to block these items while allowing purchases of fruits + vegetables, meat, dairy, and pantry staples.
