GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today a motorcade of over 550 vehicles—including police cars, fire trucks, and motorcycles—will drive through Denton County on its way to Gainesville for Medal of Honor Weekend. Some highways and access points will be temporarily closed, so drivers are advised to use right lanes for a smoother commute.  Cross Timbers Gazette
  • The Texas House voted 149–0 on Tuesday to ban non-disclosure agreements that keep secrets about sexual abuse as part of Trey’s Law—named after Trey Carlock—and the bill now goes to the Senate, where it must pass by the end of May to become law.  NBC 5
  • Two Denton City Council races are heating up as candidates file campaign reports that show grassroots support and no ties to special interests.
