- ➤ North Texas organizations removed the financial barrier to prom by hosting free dress and accessory events at Boys & Girls Clubs, Dallas CASA and other locations through Comerica Bank partnerships. - ➤ Former Lewisville ISD elementary teacher John Leslie Collett pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a student and was sentenced to 20 years in prison last month—he was arrested in April 2023 after a parent reported that her 10-year-old daughter said he abused her on several occasions—he must now register as a sex offender. - ➤ Educator Mark Terry said the pending school choice bill would give schools more funding and control because a $10,000 voucher falls short of covering high tuition costs.
