On Wednesday, April 15, a 9-mile motorcade of 550 service vehicles — a historic record — will pass through Denton County escorting Medal of Honor recipients headed to Gainesville for an annual event.

Temporary closures on highways 183, 360, 114 and 121 plus I-35W and I-35E may cause heavy traffic.

Attorney General Ken Paxton called for the firing of former field education coordinator Paige Falco on April 10 as he opened an investigation into the university’s DEI policies after a 2025 video showed her explaining how courses meet accreditation standards (the university confirmed Falco is no longer employed).
