- ➤ Cloud 9 Charities founder Kim Cloud announced that Bedtime Rescue—a program providing emergency shelter for local families for 26 years—will now be managed by Giving Grace, with Dawn Shapely, Michelle Conner and Samantha Sims taking over operations to support families in need. - ➤ TWU Theatre has performed part of its season finale, Spring Awakening, at Redbud Theater from April 11-13 and will resume performances from April 17-19. - ➤ Texas Woman’s University’s occupational therapy program ranked No. 1 in Texas and tied for 24th nationally—its physical therapy program ranked second in the state and tied for 28th nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report’s evaluation. - ➤ Today Denton wins the Texas Environmental Excellence Award for Innovative Waste Management as its Commercial Organics Diversion pilot program (a joint effort by the Solid Waste and Recycling and Wastewater Departments) collects leftover food from downtown restaurants to make compost while aiming to divert 30% of waste from the landfill by 2030.
