EDUCATION NEWS

  • The UNT AAUP chapter sent a letter to President Keller on April 12 asking the university to aid 27 international students whose visas were revoked—citing a lack of clear communication and safety measures. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Denton City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall’s Council Chambers to consider an ordinance that changes the zoning of about 3.158 acres at the northwest corner of Teasley Lane and Hunter’s Creek Road. The proposal also amends the city’s official zoning map and sets a maximum penalty of $2,000 for violations.  Voice of Denton
  • Today, the City Auditor's Office released a report that reviews the City's homelessness response including enforcement actions, street outreach, and emergency shelter operations. The report noted that encampment responses were reactive and not well coordinated — and that limited resources hinder mobile crisis and shelter contractor efforts to connect individuals with stable housing.  City of Denton
