  • Denton police responded at 6:04 a.m. Tuesday to a 911 call from the 900 block of Avenue A near the UNT campus where a disturbance between two men led to a fatal gunshot wound—no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.  Cross Timbers Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is marking its 45th anniversary this month as it looks back on stopping terrorist threats in North Texas. Former leader Tom Petrowski said the team intercepted dangerous plots—like a 2009 bomb scheme in Dallas—to keep the region safe.  CBS Texas

HEALTH NEWS

  • Nexus Recovery Center — which has served North Texas women for over 50 years — will open a new family facility on May 1 that features a private intake area and detox beds so mothers can bring up to three children during treatment.
