- ➤ UNT approved buyouts for 40 faculty members to save up to $4.7 million amid declining international student enrollment & reduced state funding. Eligible employees must leave by Aug. 31 and be paid by Oct. 15 as the university adjusts programs to address a $45 million budget shortfall. KERA
- ➤ Greg Petolick won Denton ISD Board Place 6 on May 2, edging out Vicki Byrd with 6,586 votes to 6,462 — Anita Martinez-Strickland won Place 7 unopposed. In Lewisville ISD, Dr. Staci Barker won Place 5 with 2,134 votes against Brian Pollard. Cross Timbers Gazette
