GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TxDOT anticipates completing work at the FM 2499 and FM 407 intersection by mid-May. Highland Village officials report new traffic signal poles have been installed — drivers should use alternative routes as signals may blink red and cause delays. Cross Timbers Gazette
- ➤ Denton was named a 2025 Tree City USA on May 7 after the Arbor Day Foundation honored the city for meeting key criteria — including a dedicated tree board, a community ordinance, and funding for urban forestry — and the city earned a Growth Award during the program’s 50th anniversary.
