The festivities begin with an ice cream flavor reveal at 1:00 a.m. at Beth Marie’s Ice Cream, continue with a parade at 4:30 p.m., and conclude with a concert at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Discover Denton Visitor Center — footage from the celebration will appear on American Idol. - ➤ The City of Denton warned residents on May 13th about a utility payment scam in which individuals impersonated city or DME employees and used high-pressure tactics to demand immediate payment to avoid disconnecting services — officials stressed that legitimate billing is handled only through official channels — urging customers to verify bills and report suspicious calls. - ➤ At a benefit concert in Denton on Sunday, Midlake returned to the stage to support artist Des Smith with local acts performing and a round of shots offered mid-set.
