- ➤ Food banks this week highlighted a worsening hunger crisis in Texas as a new study found there are 1.3 million hungry people in North Texas—up 12% from last year—and most hunger is in Dallas and Tarrant counties with one third of those affected being children. Gov Abbott asked USDA for a SNAP waiver to restrict junk food purchases while House Agriculture Committee members proposed cutting $290 million from the program and tightening work requirements. - ➤ The body of a man around 50 was recovered from Lake Lewisville on Friday after a caller from Hidden Cove said he jumped after a boat's tie line and did not resurface—Lewisville Fire Department recovered his body with Colony Fire Department leading while the Game Warden will now investigate the case. The Dallas Morning News

- ➤ Denton PD issued a felony arrest warrant for Michigan woman Eva Haron who took 76-year-old Karen May Taube from Willow Bend Assisted Living and Memory Care at 2125 Brinker Road in Denton when Taube was last seen at 5 p.m. on Monday—authorities say Haron may be traveling in a white 2018 Ford F-150 with a Michigan plate. - ➤ The Senate passed Trey’s Law on Thursday to ban nondisclosure agreements in sexual abuse cases—including adults—in a 31—0 vote. The bill now heads back to the House for approval and must be moved quickly with two weeks left in the session. NBC 5
