The Denton Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall (215 E McKinney Street) to review a Mobility Plan amendment that changes road alignments for Underwood, Corbin, and Spring Side near the airport and I-35W; any citizen may attend to speak or observe.

Texas lawmakers agreed on a bill Thursday to add $8.5 billion to public schools, with about $4.2 billion allocated for teacher pay raises — the largest in state history.

The Senate votes on the measure today and it will also provide funds for school safety, special education, and teacher preparation.

The Commission’s recommendation will then be forwarded to City Council for final action.

The Denton City Council will hold a public hearing on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall to consider a Comprehensive Plan Amendment that changes street classifications on segments of Eagle Drive, Avenue A - and Welch Street located south and east of the University of North Texas.

Citizens may attend in person to speak for or against the proposal or simply observe.
