- ➤ Teachers in North Texas may receive pay raises in 2026 if Governor Abbott signs the $8.5 billion school funding bill that passed on Thursday. The bill provides $4.2 billion for teacher pay (with larger districts awarding $2,500 or $5,000 raises and smaller districts nearly doubling those amounts) and allocates funds for school security, special education, and early learning, with Abbott having until June 22 to sign.
