ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Severe storms hit North Texas on June 2, causing widespread damage from hail that shattered windshields and damaged roofs, and lightning that struck residents. A lightning strike at Mustang Park on Lake Benbrook around 8:20 p.m. injured 14 people—two were hospitalized while a man in Willow Park was also taken to the hospital. CBS Texas

- ➤ Denton Enterprise Airport won the National/Regional Airport of the Year and Project of the Year awards at the Texas Aviation Conference on May 21 for its $22 million runway overhaul and several community initiatives. - ➤ Aubrey police are searching for 17-year-old Skylar Paige Dennis, last seen on May 31 around 11 p.m. in the 4000 block of Fox Trotter Drive in Sandbrock Ranch and described as 5-foot-7 with brown hair, brown eyes and wearing a black shirt and shorts with a hoop nose ring — anyone with information is urged to call 940-349-1600 ext. 9 or 911. - ➤ A Denton man, William Oddo III, has been charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with his fiancee LaVera Wardell's death after her body was found in an apartment—authorities say the investigation is ongoing. Denton Record-Chronicle
