- ➤ Severe storms hit North Texas on June 2, causing widespread damage from hail that shattered windshields and damaged roofs, and lightning that struck residents. A lightning strike at Mustang Park on Lake Benbrook around 8:20 p.m. injured 14 people—two were hospitalized while a man in Willow Park was also taken to the hospital. CBS Texas

- ➤ A Denton man, William Oddo III, has been charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with his fiancee LaVera Wardell's death after her body was found in an apartment—authorities say the investigation is ongoing. Denton Record-Chronicle
