A Denton man allegedly shot his fiancée in the head—reportedly kept her body for about a week—while cleaning the crime scene.

Denton County deputies were serving an arrest warrant at a home west of Sanger when a 58-year-old man — who allegedly pointed a gun at them — was fatally shot.

Tuesday afternoon, Denton County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed 58-year-old Kenneth Wayne Jones in Sanger—he did not follow commands and pointed a handgun at them while serving an arrest warrant on the 10000 block of Field Lark Lane near North Bob White Way.

Seven residents and the McKinney Housing Authority filed a federal lawsuit against Providence Village HOA and FirstService Residential after racist online posts—allegedly targeting voucher holders—caused emotional distress, financial loss, and forced moves in Denton County, with the complaint following years of racial harassment and a federal investigation.

Strong storms tore through Krum on Wednesday, leaving severe damage to downtown buildings including a roof ripped off near Johnny Joe’s convenience store — metal and wood scattered as power outages dropped from over 1,300 to a few dozen.

Surveillance video showed customers rushing inside while no injuries were reported.
