- ➤ Sly Stone — a Denton-born music pioneer and frontman of Sly and the Family Stone — died peacefully at 82 after a long battle with COPD and other health issues. - ➤ Goodwill North Central Texas and Denton Municipal Court will host an Expunction Clinic and Court in the Community event on June 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 2030 W. University Dr. The clinic will assist the first 50 eligible Goodwill clients free of charge while the court event offers a safe harbor for residents with outstanding warrants who bring the required documents.
