  • Hundreds turned out in Denton and Fort Worth for a peaceful ‘No Kings’ protest — the demonstrators expressed support for protecting democracy and immigrant rights.  NBC 5
  • The Denton Board of Ethics met on June 2 to review six potential conflicts of interest involving Sherri McDade’s roles at the Denton Housing Authority and the Planning and Zoning Commission—advising her recusal from all discussions related to DHA while suggesting further meetings for less clear cases. No comment was received from McDade or DHA about the recommendations.  North Texas Daily
  • The Texas Department of Transportation postponed planned weekend closures of I-35E and the Main Street bridge in Lewisville until June 20-22—travelers should expect delays and use alternate routes.  Denton Record-Chronicle
  • Governor Greg Abbott and local leaders will meet at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse at 3 p.m. on Monday to sign a property tax relief bill that raises homestead exemptions on school property taxes for homeowners in southern Denton County—voters will later decide on the measures in a November constitutional amendment election.  Cross Timbers Gazette
