Denton residents may see higher water, wastewater and electric rates next year if City Council approves staff recommendations in the proposed 2026-27 budget, following a $200M shortfall in electric revenue.

Make-A-Wish North Texas received a $1 million gift from a family foundation to help grant wishes for more than 1,000 local kids (including four-year-old Bailey Wilson, who is now cancer-free and set for a trip to Disney World).

The donation will ease the backlog of pending wishes.

Outdoor workers can pick up free hydration kits Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center to help prevent heat-related illnesses, with supplies including water, cooling towels, and fans (provided by the Mark Cuban and Dirk Nowitzki Foundations).
