The Denton Arts and Jazz Festival started a fundraiser to raise $75,000 after city budget cuts led to reduced funding and higher rental fees at Quakertown Park.

Executive director Kevin Lechler said the fundraiser has raised $2,011 in less than 24 hours—showing early community support as the city holds budget workshops in August.
