  • The North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade returns to Denton today at 9 a.m. Road closures on Parkway, McKinney, Elm, Prairie, and Locust Streets will run from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.—motorists should plan alternate routes.  Voice of Denton
  • Denton is hosting the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade today at 9 a.m.—parking restrictions and road closures on Parkway, McKinney, Elm, Prairie and Locust streets will be in effect from 7:30—10:30 a.m. Businesses inside the event area will operate on their normal hours.  City of Denton

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Texas Education Agency released the 2025 school grades along with 2024 scores, showing that many North Texas districts earned As and improved a full letter grade. Denton ISD saw its rating rise from a C to a B — TEA scores based on STAAR tests include graduation rates, college and career readiness.  KERA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City's Auditor’s Office released its Fiscal Year 2024-25 third quarter performance report, which features one new audit on Homelessness Response plus a follow-up review on Recreation Facility Operations. The report shows the office used about 73 percent of its time budget on audit projects and answered two requests for advice and assistance.  City of Denton
