On Oct. 1, Denton residents' gas bills will increase after the City Council approved a settlement with Atmos Energy, raising charges by $13.37 for residential and $44.82 for commercial accounts (14.15% and 9.9% increases).
Denton named Jen Basham as its new parks and rec director on Thursday after Gary Packan stepped down.
She will lead the department as it works to support local programs.
