A new law in Texas will cut local health department fees and let a state food manager certificate work statewide starting September 1st, which is expected to save restaurants money and reduce paperwork.

Restaurant owners say the changes will remove duplicate fees—such as for alcohol permits—and help small businesses stay afloat.

H-E-B purchased additional land in Denton County for a possible new store—officials said the site may be developed once planning is complete.
