- ➤ Denton officials will kick off the 31 Days of Halloween on Oct. 1 with a ribbon cutting for The Maze at 5 p.m. in front of the Denton Civic Center — the celebration will include a Blocktober Party and Pumpkin Drop and builds on a record-setting first year that drew nearly 660,000 visitors. - ➤ Residents in the area around the old Calhoun Middle School say city planning has ignored their neighborhood as roads and utility work over the past year have left unpaved stretches — and many 'road closed' signs disrupt daily travel. Denton Record-Chronicle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On September 11, the Regional Transportation Council approved $400,000 in interim funding to support transit-oriented developments and pedestrian safety in North Texas—this payment helps keep projects moving as nearly $500M in federal funds remains delayed.
