GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Oct. 1, Denton County adopted a $452.2 million budget for FY25-26 that lowered the property tax rate to 18.59 cents per $100 from 18.79 cents as approved on Sept. 9—its lowest rate since 1986. The budget adds about $35 million for services like public safety and maintenance—helping the county plan for rapid growth. North Texas Daily
