GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Saturday, Oct. 11, the 64-member Texas GOP governing board will vote on whether to censure ten lawmakers, including four from North Texas, a move that will allow local parties to remove them from the March primary ballot in 2026—this could spark legal challenges over ballot access. Affected lawmakers may still run as independents, but they will face a tougher path back onto the party ticket.  NBC 5

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Sneaky Pete’s closed on September 28 after four decades at Lewisville Lake, and its building will be demolished by the end of the year. City officials say Eagle Point Marina will be redeveloped with partners to bring a new hotel, restaurant—and entertainment area in the coming years.  KERA

SPORTS NEWS

  • North Texas, with an unbeaten record of five wins, will host No. 24 South Florida tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT at DATCU Stadium before a soldout crowd as classes are canceled; the team chases a historic season and marks its defensive takeaways with a Stone Cold beer smash+ a nod to former linebacker Stone Cold Steve Austin.  NBC 5
