- ➤ Records show that Lewisville Lake was renamed in 1971 after the dam between Lake Dallas and the Garza-Little Elm Reservoir was removed (the change followed a history that started in the 1920s when Dallas built Lake Dallas for water). Local experts say the lake took its name from Lewisville Dam (renamed in 1955) and note that some locals still call it Lake Lewisville. The Dallas Morning News

- ➤ An October audit found that the Linda McNatt Animal Shelter completed five of 34 improvement recommendations while 26 remain in progress—auditors said staff must fix drug logs and add more animal care help before a follow-up audit set in fiscal year 2027. North Texas Daily
- ➤ Airlines will cut 10% of flights today at Dallas-Fort Worth and Dallas Love Field following an FAA order aimed at reducing pressure on air traffic controllers.
