- ➤ On November 11, Denton County held a Veterans Day celebration at Downtown Square to honor over 41,000 veterans, including Ken Horn who served in Vietnam and beat throat cancer. Veterans shared their service stories and talked about long waits for health care—issues that still affect many who served. North Texas Daily
- ➤ Tarrant Area Food Bank will host a mobile food distribution event at Denton’s C.H. Collins Athletic Complex on Tuesday, November 25—no income or housing requirements are needed. Denton Record-Chronicle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City staff said last week that nearly half of Denton's households are low income—showing the ongoing struggle to provide enough affordable housing nearly five years after a housing study. City leaders are planning next steps to address the shortage. Denton Record-Chronicle
