Denton public facilities are offering free warming stations and shelter options this winter—helping residents stay warm during the cold season.

Hearts for Homes, a Denton nonprofit that provides free home repairs for low-income seniors, received an $8,500 grant on Nov.

21 from Park Place Dealerships as part of its Season of Giving program — the nonprofit was one of 19 chosen from 600 applicants to boost community support across North Texas.

Denton's First Refuge Ministries reopened its Giving Fence for the winter to let residents in need grab a coat without any formalities — the service aims to help locals stay warm during colder months.
