Doctors warn that a new flu strain (H3N1) may soon appear in North Texas and 20 states and could make older adults very sick because it is resistant to current vaccines.

Health experts say a flu shot is still the best prevention (even if it works less well against this strain).

Neal Brown was hired as North Texas football head coach on a five-year deal — he previously coached at Troy, West Virginia and worked as a special assistant with the Longhorns — and he said he is eager to start his role with Athletic Director Jared Mosley as press conference details will be announced soon.
