About this event

Prenatal Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a learned skill for both mom and baby, and the more prepared you are before delivery, the more confident you'll feel during those first days together. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco offers a variety of parent education classes to help you prepare for your newest family member, and we encourage you to take as many as possible.

Our Prenatal Breastfeeding class is a comprehensive, three-hour course taught by a certified lactation consultant. Expectant mothers are encouraged to attend with their spouse, partner, or support person to better understand the breastfeeding journey and learn how they can support them after their baby arrives.

Topics include: • The benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby

• Getting breastfeeding off to a successful start in the hospital

• Achieving a proper latch and comfortable positioning

• Recognizing signs that your baby is feeding effectively

• Building and maintaining your milk supply

• Common breastfeeding challenges and practical solutions

• Pumping, milk storage, and bottle introduction

• Returning to work while continuing to breastfeed

• Resources and ongoing lactation support after delivery

This interactive class provides plenty of time for questions and discussion, helping you feel prepared and confident before your baby's arrival.

Class size is limited to 20 couples to ensure a personalized learning experience, so early registration is encouraged.
