About this event

FOCUS Romans is F45’s original resistance based workout, consisting of large compound lifts with maximum rest periods. The focus for each member should be to lift as heavy as they can, every single set. Romans is designed to make you stronger and more powerful. BENEFITS The major benefits of compound lifting include; time efficiency, high calorie expenditure, multi joint and muscle movement, and subsequently systemic stress that gets exerted throughout the target muscles and neighbouring areas (in the case of squats and deadlifts, the whole body is forced to work systemically, thus producing a system-wide, or total-body, effect). FACTS & FEELINGS The exercises you choose make a massive difference in the results of your workout. As a result, exercise selection and timing is crucial. For the main part, the key is selecting exercises that recruit a higher number of muscle groups and place a higher level of stress on these muscles. This will result in better strength and size gains. SCIENCE Science shows us that an increase in lean muscle mass has many benefits to everybody, no matter what age, weight or gender. Large compound lifting with the correct rest intervals results in an increase to muscle size, tone and strength. With the correct strength regime an individual will burn more calories every day, even at rest. The percentage of muscle mass in the human body depends upon gender, age and physical fitness. For men, the average muscle mass is between 38% and 54%, while for women the range is between 28% and 39%
