About this event

The City of Carrollton is excited to announce the full entertainment lineup for the free 16th annual Festival at the Switchyard. This year’s event promises to be another day of fun for the whole family, with free concerts from nationally known music artists, performances by community talent, and free rides and games on Saturday, November 7 in Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street).

Previously released mainstage entertainment includes music from Bird Brains, Elias Y Su Orquesta, Midtown 10, Bri Bagwell, HeartByrne, Wheatus, and Eve 6 opening for double platinum-selling alt rock band Toad the Wet Sprocket.

Throughout the day, between mainstage band performances, local groups will entertain the crowd in front of the stage. Choir students from Vivian Field Middle School will open the Festival just after 11 a.m. with a performance of the national anthem.

The R.E. Good Elementary School Dance Department will then kick off the festivities, followed by a thrilling performance from the R.L. Turner Lionettes Drill Team synchronizing precision choreography and spirit. The Carrollton-founded group 410 Line Dancers will conclude the morning performances with soul line dancing routines anyone can groove along with.

In the afternoon, Alianza Rumbera Dance Studio will perform energetic salsa and bachata dance routines. To round out the front of stage performances at 1:40 p.m., the lovely ladies of Class Act Tap Company will dazzle with their terrific tap-dancing talents and very sparkly outfits.

HeartByrne pays tribute to Talking Heads and David Byrne, who fused pop, funk, art rock, and African rhythms into perhaps the most adventurous, danceable and timeless music to emerge from the new wave movement.

HeartByrne picks up the torch where the seminal concert film ‘Stop Making Sense’ left off, breathing new life into the classics and pushing the grooves into uncharted sonic territory. What began as an informal ‘hoot night’ has evolved into a must-see touring act featuring some of Austin, TX’s most talented musicians.
